top research findings

fashion can boost confidence sub-cultures influence on fashion self fulfilling prophecy theory survey on the name of the brand results from my questionnaire for tattooed people results from my online questionnaire about tattoos in society Above are my best six research findings but the top two out of these six would be the questionnaire about tattoos in society and the finding that fashion can influence someones confidence. These are my top two findings because i wanted to create brand which doesn't judge or look down upon people with tattoos, in fact they promote it. The clothing and the brand is a way of making someone feel comfortable and confident in their own skin and the online survey which i created proves that the majority of people still have negative stigmas associated to people with tattoos. This finding along with the finding that fashion can have a positive impact on someones confidence all makes for a good recipe for success as my brand will target the...

initial design sketches

Below are some early sketches of potential designs for my clothing. These are all early designs and would more than likely be accompanied by text of some sort. These would probably all be big designs on the back of a t-shirt or hoodie (taking up a large proportion of the back).

survey on the name

Brand name ideas shortlist: New Breed  The Hunter   Flash Flood Foresaken Flash I created a short online survey and had people pick one name from the above list. the response was good and the majority all went with 'New Breed' as you can see from the pie chart below. From this information gathered i will now start to experiment with logos for my brand using the name which was the most popular.

self fulfilling prophecy theory

A self-fulfilling prophecy occurs when a belief that is untrue influences the behaviour of people in such a way that the belief becomes true in the end. results from questionnaire for tattooed people

These are the individual results from a few questionnaires i had filled out by tattooed people. from these results it was clear that everyone bar one of the people i interviewed felt judged and have had job opportunities declined due to their tattoos and piercings. one even got denied entry to a night club due to her piercings.  from these results along with my results from the online survey it is clear a negative stigma is still present in society toward tattoos and many people get discriminated and judged for expressing themselves.  my brand wants to combat this and through the use of art and fashion create a culture which accepts people for who they are.  Dilys' answers:  Questions for those with tattoos. 1. How many tattoos/piercings do you have? 18 piercings... and it depends how you count tattoos! 13 maybe, I guess? 2. Where is your tattoo(s)/piercings?  Tattoos: full left sleeve, right arm, back, sides, ribs, ches...
