a look at subcultures

(Baddeley, 2015)

This book 'Street Culture: 50 Years of Subculture Style' by Gavin Baddeley explores the family tree of youth movements, examining the lines that tie Beatniks to Bikers, Punks to Emos, Goths to Metal Heads. Illustrated throughout, the book presents a sumptuous visual history of youth culture, and the style, behaviour and values of the groups who have defined it.

The photos above are of the introduction to to the book and in this introduction Baddeley talks about subcultures in general and touches on some subcultures and how they are viewed in society.

I feel this book has helped me with my clothing brand as i want my brand to appeal to some of the subcultures mentioned in this book, so by reading up on there dislikes, likes and values it has helped me incorporate all the necessary elements into my brand.
