effects of my clothing on tattooed people - questionnaire
Before i started printing the clothing i sent out a few questionnaires to tattooed people asking them how they felt in society, if they feel judged etc. and the majority came back and said that they do feel judged and they get funny looks and have even been denied jobs for being tattooed.
I have now met up with these same people and gave them some of my clothing to wear for a day or two and then asked them another bunch of questions about how they feel and if their confidence has gone up or not wearing my clothing.
I wanted to see if wearing an item of clothing which represents tattooed people as a whole and which goes against mainstream society would make the person wearing it feel more confident in themselves as they know what they are wearing fully supports them and tat they are part of a wider community.

7. If this was to be made into a real clothing brand with real customers, do you think that it could reduce the amount people feel judged in mainstream society?
yes i think so. i felt cool and confident wearing it and i think if more people like me (tattooed) were wearing the clothing it would make us all feel a part of something. like a following or group. i think that by shopping inn places you know you are accepted make you feel so much better. i always feel a bit judged walking into certain clothing outlets because of the way i look.

My thoughts on the questionnaire
This questionnaire has helped prove my thoughts that fashion can have a positive effect on someone's confidence. my previous surveys showed that people still have a negative stigma associated with tattooed people and that tattooed people themselves feel judged when in high street shops. i wanted to create a brand which doesn't judge and which supports tattooed people and by doing so the people who wear the clothing feel tis support and in turn feel confident.
